When I started drupaling, I downloaded a pre-built theme I felt would generally represent what I thought my site should look like. To give my site a slightly different feel, I began replacing the themed imagery with originals of my own and picked at the main style sheet, tweaking it little-by-little.

Hey all. I haven't written in a few days as I've been busy working on banner ad animations, HTML emails, and frequenting local bars. However, today I did make a little headway on the design/set up of the portfolio portion of my site.
After much hunting and gathering for the correct image viewing tool, I discovered the module Thickbox. Coupled with the Image module, Thickbox creates a nice way to showcase a gallery of photos and allows for easy toggling. I'm still working on getting the "Login to comment" notification to show up on the overlay, but so far I'm quite pleased.
Installed a module called comment notify, so that when users comment to a post, they can sign up to receive email notifications when people comment back. BAM!! Just like that.
I also added a portfolio page. I'm not finished creating galleries and uploading images, but the basics have been implemented. Check it. Over there on the right. Oooo ahhhh.
I have been adding pages and more content over the last two days, exploring how to style and position my main navigation as well as update user settings so that annoying anonymous can't take over my pages anymore (just kidding, it was me). Progress is slow - a lot of trial and error - but still, the Drupal site is coming along. Eventually the site will be themed to what I envision and then I can focus on keeping a conversation going for the few that actually read my blog...wait, does anyone read my blog??
